We honor a great healer. They draw 5 wonderful names

On August 7, we honor a great saint-healer. Saint Dometius was born in Persia to a pagan family during the reign of Saint Emperor Constantine the Great.

He was still a boy when Christians introduced him to the covenants of Christ and Saint Dometius became a zealous Christian follower.

When he grew up, he refused to live a worldly life and became a monk. After leading a pious monastic life for many years, Saint Dometius left the monastery and settled in a cave, reports BLITZ.

There he himself spent time in strict fasting and prayers. Thus he rose spiritually and the Lord gave him the gift of healing. Two monks settled at Saint Dometius.

In the year 363, Julian the Apostate settled in the area where the righteous hermit lived.

When he learned that the healer Saint Dometius and his two Christian followers lived in the cave, Julian sent soldiers who stoned the three holy men alive in the cave, where they accepted their martyrdom.

Name day is celebrated by 5 wonderful names – Valeria and Valeria, Valerian and Valeriana, Valeria. They have a name day as early as March 9 and November 7.
