“We felt safe!” The concert in Barcelona gathers 5,000 visitors

More than 5,000 people gathered at the “Palau Sant Jordi” arena on Saturday, where the band “Love of Lesbian” performed.

The event took place with the special permission of the Spanish health authorities, with all visitors taking a Covid-19 test before the concert.

The start of the concert was delayed due to all the necessary epidemiological tests, but it did not suppress the genuine joy of the visitors.

“Welcome to one of the most exciting concerts of your life,” the concert was started by the group’s soloist Santijs Balmes.

“It was impressive! We felt safe all the time! It was something we missed a lot,” said Salvador, a concert attendee.

Meanwhile, another visitor to Jose said it was a special moment. “We could escape from reality for a moment. We could even remember that once such actions were normal.”

Before the concert, the examination took place in three places, it was performed by 80 nurses who had full personal protective equipment.

By the middle of the day, three of the 2,400 people already tested were positive, but one had become a contact person. It is not specified how many positive cases were found by the end of the day.

It is reported that those with positive results could not attend the concert, but were entitled to a refund.

Participants received their antigen test results within 10 to 15 minutes using the app on their phones. The test and mask were included in the ticket price, which cost from 23 to 28 euros.

According to experts, this study showed that pre-screening with antigen tests and the use of face masks managed to prevent the spread of infection at the site, despite the lack of social distancing between participants.
