We created 2bOriginals, a production company specialized in film and television projects
Due to the success of our exclusive productions for Facebook Watch O YouTube Originals and, of course, the one from our first movie “Dedicated to my Ex”, what it became the highest grossing Ecuadorian film in history and was a commercial success in countries like Mexico, Colombia or Peru; we have decided to create 2bOriginals.
2bOriginals is ua production company specialized in film and television for the young public, which also includes Touched Movies, a company acquired by 2btube in 2019 (More information here). Its objective is to get this audience to reconnect with those media, through productions that speak the same language, with formats and visual codes typical of their generation and with the incorporation of digital talents in the cast.
Thus, what characterizes and differentiates 2bOriginals from other production companies is the combination of traditional actors; influencers with talent for acting and a team that has developed professionally both in ambitious productions for the big and small screen, as well as in innovative digital projects that have managed to connect with new generations.
The projects with which this new production company opens in 2020 are the premiere of the series Mortal Glitch and the filming of Misfit, the adaptation for the Spanish-speaking market of the successful Dutch franchise.
>Mortal Glitch
Series developed by Touché Films, a subsidiary of 2bOriginals in Ecuador, exclusively for YouTube Originals. Premiered on September 2, 2020 on its flagship channel enchufe.tv , its first episode got more than 25 million views in less than a week.
Throughout five episodes, Mortal Glitch tells the story of Iria (Antonella Valeriano), a non-playable character from the video game Hero’s Legend. This young woman is condemned to repeat her routine as a simple caretaker of “pigs”, the farm animals in this game. But a glitch hits town, killing Iria’s hero and best friend, and no one can revive unless someone restarts the game. She takes up the challenge and decides to change her destiny to become a hero.
In the company of Laín (Orlando Herrera) and Hermes (Diego Ulloa), Iria will acquire the necessary skills to complete all levels, revive her friend and save her world. With the characteristic humor of plug.tv, this show particularly emphasizes the concept that ordinary people can do extraordinary things.
Each episode of the series has been published on a weekly basis but, since its premiere, it has been available in full and without ads for YouTube Premium subscribers. Currently already you can enjoy the series in full here.
> Misfit
On December 22, the filming of Misfit, the new 2bOriginals film with Touché Films, which was shot for 3 weeks in the city of Quito, under strict security measures. The production had a technical team of more than 70 people, 26 actors, 75 extras and 9 locations.
In Misfit participates a renowned national and international cast, among which stand out Alicia jaziz and Gimena Gomez from Mexico; Julian Cerati and Mica Suarez from Argentina; Javi moon from Spain; Raysa Ortiz from Peru and Giselle torres from the United States.
Ecuadorians Jorge Ulloa, Nataly valencia and Julio Pañi, from the cast of enchufe.tv, are also part of this Latin American romantic comedy, an adaptation of the original Misfit produced in the Netherlands in 2017.
Directed by Orlando herrera, the premiere will be in mid-2021 in several Latin American countries.
