We also have a plan for Mr Ruk in any case. Rock group Židrūns releases a new album Kovārņu grandchildren / Diena

Listening to groups Židrūns new album For grandchildren’s grandchildren, I suddenly understand why The Beatles usually did not include in the albums those songs that had already been released as singles. Led Zeppelin singles are not released at all, so that the album is as a whole, from which a song does not come out just because it has been heard before, so the listener is inevitably more accustomed to it than others who are still afraid to let in the most sensitive areas of their perception , because not everyone is so brave as to immediately throw into the unknown. I hasten to tell the groups this “genius discovery” Židrūns participants Klāvs Kalnačs and Ritvars Bieders, when we, as it should be, put on face masks and met in the Pig Park in the suburbs of Moscow, so as not to sit indoors. The premiere of the new album at the concert on October 30 will also take place in the open air with a stage on Noah AB dam has a limited number of visitors, so you must apply Ticketshop already in time. This is plan B, because plan A – a variant of the sitting concert – has been rejected. It’s starting to get dark, and tonight the band will rehearse, where both guitarists will meet the other two members of the group – bassist Ulvi Urtāns and drummer Anrijs Korpus.

The mention of both classical English groups at the beginning of the article is not accidental, but natural. Group Židrūns stands out with its own sound, which can not be confused with any other, and each participant plays a big role in it – not that they just each perform their own instrument batches. They live in what they do on stage, which can be seen in concerts, but they can also be listened to and listened to in recordings. “Thanks to the guys, because each of them gives the song more structure, structure and emotion, where you can indulge in the story or logic of the text.… If we made songs on a verse-song-song-song principle, I would have to break the text, but in this case there are themes, then comes the text, which is rearranged or aligned to form some kind of logic and maybe even a dramatic story, “Klāvs tells quite chaotically and here it must be explained that often Zidruna texts are not even written as poetry – they can be lines that do not start and do not end when you have to adjust to the length of the previous line – paper is used completely, writing it down from edge to edge.

The time we wanted

Klāvs says, a little justifiably, that the rock genre has ended or exhausted itself countless times, but Ritvars adds that it is not at all that they think about joining the boundaries of any genre – all this occurs in a natural way, all four come together, and if, according to some criteria, it is framed, it is already something other than their doing. If the groups in the world context, which, without reinventing any bicycle, have created unique rock music in recent decades, when everything has long seemed to be exhausted, suffice it to mention The Strokes, The White Stripes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs. In Latvia, this group is also included in this wave Depo, which has long since ceased to exist, but Židrūns are and probably will be, because now they are quite old and believe that what they are doing has some meaning Depo unfortunately failed.

Isn’t this the time we wanted? – The clave resembles the central phrase of a song Or?, which belongs to Lauris Vorslavs, and Židrūns Girdausks has decided to use it in the song. This character from Lithuania, as it turns out, has not left them since the first time I interviewed them about ten years ago. And it doesn’t matter that they are still known almost exclusively in Latvia – there may not be as many fans as the band deserves, but those who do know that they are in a privileged position only to be able to enjoy this music, which is unique not only with the interplay of all four musicians, but also with Klava ‘s expressive singing intonations, which can change rapidly from whispers to shouts, just as a song can suddenly be a moment of complete silence, followed by a thump falling from his feet.
