WBZ boston Appoints Rob Cartwright as Vice President of News
Boston, MA – September 4, 2025 – CBS Boston’s flagship station, WBZ-TV (Channel 4), today announced the appointment of Rob Cartwright as its new Vice President of News. Cartwright brings nearly three decades of experience in broadcast journalism to the role, poised to lead the station’s news division into a dynamic future.
Cartwright joins WBZ from KEYE-TV adn Telemundo Austin, where he served as News Director since 2014.During his tenure in Austin, he oversaw all aspects of news programming and content strategy for both stations. Prior to that, Cartwright held a News Director position at WSYR-TV in Syracuse, New York, and occupied various news management roles in both Washington, D.C., and Dallas, Texas. A respected figure in the industry, Cartwright is a fellow of the carol Kneeland Project for Responsible Journalism and a member of the radio Television Digital News Association. He has also been recognized with numerous awards, including the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast, a testament to his commitment to journalistic excellence.
