Watch! The commercial for the Latvian teen comedy ‘Tizlenes’ has been published

The film takes place in 1999, the celebration of the new millennium is approaching. Three ninth-graders Sarmīte, Sveta and Katrīna have decided to change their lives and turn from the class’s most ridiculous “teens” into the school’s most popular girls. Inspired by Hollywood movies and TV series, the girlfriends decide that the only way out is to come to the graduation with the best guys in the class. But when fantasy plans almost ruin true friendship, girls have to realize that pretending to be who you are is not happiness or style, and everything in life doesn’t happen like a movie.

The film, produced by the studio “Ego Media” in cooperation with the technology and entertainment company “Tet” and the media group “TV3 Group”, will reach viewers all over Latvia on August 27. The main roles of the youth comedy are high school age actresses – Asnāte Sofija Rožkalne, Ludmila Karpova, Kartīna Dambeniece and Gerda Embure. The ensemble of actors also includes experienced and well-known actors – Guna Zariņa, Daiga Kažociņa, Ģirts Krūmiņš, Imants Strads, Marija Linarte, Inga Siliņa and Mārtiņš Kalita. Episodic roles have also been played by the stars of popular culture of this time, including rappers and social networking platform stars Jānis Krīvēns and Edgars Bāliņš, as well as rapper Ji.

The film is co-produced with the Czech Republic, where it will also be shown, dubbed in Czech. The film is produced by Guntis Trekteris, cinematographer-director Aigars Sērmukšs (LGC), artist Aivars Žukovskis, make-up artist Tamara Koubova, costume designer Jūlija Volkinšteine ​​and actor selection director Gunita Groša.

“Tizlenes” is the feature film debut of director Marta Elīna Martinson. The film has received funding from the National Film Center. The distributor of the film is “ACME Film Latvija”.
