The Argentine Football League second division match between Independiente Ribadabia and Atlanta was suspended on Sunday evening, after police said they could not guarantee safety after armed fans clashed in the stands.
The referee removed the players from the stadium shortly after the start of the match and suspended it for 20 minutes, after the clashes erupted before he decided to end the match, and the result indicates a tie without goals.
Television footage showed fans armed with knives and banners burning behind a goal at Mendoza Stadium, and the two clubs said on Twitter that the match was canceled because the police could not guarantee safety.
