Warning: Strong storms will hit the Czechia! There is a risk of hail and torrential rain

The warning is valid from eight o’clock on Saturday evening, until midnight on Sunday. The torrential rains that experts expect are also a danger. There is a risk of flooding of rivers and flooding of cellars, subways and roads. Drivers must also be careful – on the road, water can flood broken branches as well as dirt and stones.

Experts from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI) also warn against strong gusts of wind. The wind can break branches and uproot trees. Hail and lightning are also a danger.

Strong storms threaten the north of Moravia in particular:

“It is necessary to pay attention to safety, especially with regard to the risk of lightning strikes and injuries from falling and flying objects, or even hail. It is necessary to secure windows, doors, greenhouses and loose objects,” meteorologists recommend.

The danger is especially dangerous in the Moravian-Silesian and parts of the Olomouc region. The warning applies to Hranicko, Jesenicko, Lipník nad Bečvou area, Litovle, Mohelnice, Olomouc, Šternberk, Šumperk, Uničovsko and Zábřeh.
