In several cities, according to union information, a total of 6,000 employees are called to stop work.

After an announcement by the Verdi regional district of Lower Saxony-Bremen on Friday, buses and trains in Hanover, Bremen, Braunschweig, Wolfsburg, Göttingen, Goslar and Osnabrück are likely to be affected.

According to its own account, the union reacts to the fact that the Association of Municipal Employers’ Associations (VKA) does not want to negotiate a nationwide framework collective agreement for employees in local public transport.

In Hanover, the Üstra public transport company advised its passengers to switch to other means of transport on this day.

Negotiations on the respective collective bargaining agreements in local public transport are currently underway in all 16 federal states.
