The city of Salzburg has issued an urgent warning against ice skating on the Leopoldskroner Weiher.
SALZBURG. Despite the low temperatures of the past few days, the ice cover at Leopoldskroner Weiher is not stable.
Danger to life due to too thin an ice cover
Entering the ice rink is therefore prohibited. “The nice weather tempts many to ignore the warning signs. However, the ice at the Leopoldskroner Weiher is not stable, there is an enormous risk of breaking in, ”warns Michael Haybäck from the Public Order Office. “I appeal to everyone to take the warnings seriously, there is a risk to life if the ice that is too thin breaks,” stresses Haybäck.
The city gardens, which, among other things, look after the Leopoldskroner Weiher, say that no natural ice surface in the city of Salzburg has been released for entry.
