Warner bros.Revelation to Develop Animated Series Based on 10 Webtoons
Warner Bros. Discovery is expanding its foray into the digital comics world, announcing plans to adapt ten popular Webtoons into animated series. The initiative, spearheaded by Warner Bros. Animation, marks a meaningful investment in bringing the globally successful stories to a wider audience thru animation.
This move arrives as Webtoons gain increasing traction in the entertainment industry, fueled by the success of live-action adaptations on streaming platforms. Warner Bros. Discovery aims to capitalize on this momentum, offering fans a new way to experience their favorite narratives. Among the projects greenlit for development is Hardcore Leveling Warrior by Sehoon Kim, alongside The Stellar Swordmaster by Hong Dae Ui, juno & Q10; Down to Earth by Pookie Senpai; and Elf & Warrior by AC Stuart & Victor Rosas II.
Hardcore Leveling Warrior centers on Gong Won-Ho, a top-ranked player in the virtual world of Lucid Adventure, who is forced to rebuild his character after a devastating attack. The story follows his quest for revenge and reclamation of his former glory, navigating alliances, enemies, and a troubled past.
The Stellar swordmaster unfolds in the town of Schoarra, where orphan Vlad embarks on a path of vengeance after a disgraced knight destroys his workplace. Down to Earth introduces Kade, whose life is disrupted by the arrival of an alien girl who crashes into his backyard. Elf & Warrior chronicles the adventures of a young half-elf learning the complexities of heroism while traveling with a band of outlaws.
Warner Bros. Discovery has already unveiled these four titles as part of the initial selection, with plans to announce additional projects in the coming weeks.The studio anticipates leveraging the established fanbases of these Webtoons to drive viewership and engagement for the animated series.
