Wanted father and son from the canton of Zug report from Iraq

The father from the canton of Zug, who has been missing since the end of June, reported to the police this week. He and his son are therefore in Iraq and are doing well.

(pjm) After a family man and his four-year-old son were reported missing at the end of June 2020, the Zug police started a large-scale search. Despite intensive efforts by the authorities and dozens of clues, initially no evidence of the whereabouts of the two could be found.

Now the father reported to the Zug police on Tuesday, August 11th, as the Zug prosecution authorities announced last Friday. The Zug police specialists then had a Skype conversation with the father. They could have convinced themselves, “as far as this is possible via a Skype call”, that the four-year-old boy is doing well. The mother was informed of the new findings on August 13th.

According to his own statements and investigations by the Zug law enforcement authorities, the father is in Iraq with his son. The 36-year-old works there as a teacher. The relationship between father and son can be described as loving, according to the statement from the Zug prosecuting authorities.

Although the whereabouts are now known, the two remain in the search system. Meanwhile the police withdrew the missing person’s report.
