Wanted after giving ‘COVID hugs’

Police in Springfield, Massachusetts are looking for an individual who allegedly gave a Walmart customer a “COVID hug”, a highly reprehensible act in these times of a pandemic.

The individual at the origin of the incident which took place on August 15 at around 7 p.m. is wanted by the Massachusetts Police Department, which is taking the situation seriously.

The suspect, whom the victim had never seen before, took an object from her hands and hugged it without warning.

“I’m just giving you a COVID hug. You now have COVID, ”the suspect told him before laughing as he walked away, CNN reports.

The victim is a cancer survivor, and therefore is at higher risk of complications if they contract the disease.

The “covidot” would have done the same to several other people.
