The governor Wanda Vázquez Garced He announced tonight that the Senate approved its interim appointments to the Family and Housing Secretariats.
In a press release issued by La Fortaleza, it was explained that Eddie A. García Fuentes is the new head of the Department of Family.
So far, and since 2017, he has held the position of director of the Adult Services Program for the Administration of Families and Children (ADFAN).
He was previously deputy administrator of ADFAN. Between 2013 and 2016, he also directed the Adult Services Program at ADFAN, and between 2009 and 2012 he was Assistant Secretary of the Department of the Family. Between 2000 and 2009, he directed the same ADFAN program. Since 1997 he works in different positions in the Department of the Family.
García Fuentes has a master’s and doctorate from the Graduate School of Social Work of the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, and a Bachelor of Arts from the same university institution.
On the other hand, the new Secretary of Housing is Dennis G. González Ramos. This served as undersecretary for the CDBG-DR Program of the Department of Housing.
Previously, he was Deputy Secretary of Housing and also associate administrator of the Development and Project Construction area of the Public Housing Administration. He studied bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at the University of Puerto Rico and a master’s degree in engineering administration at the Polytechnic University.
