## Residents Voice Concerns Over Proposed housing Advancement at Blue Heron golf Club
Walworth, N.Y. – Residents near the Blue Heron Golf Club in Walworth expressed their concerns at a recent Town Board meeting regarding plans to construct 47 new homes on the golf course property. The development would encompass at least three of the 18 holes.
Town Supervisor Rick Johnson stated the town had to address the situation, initially as rumors, due to a lack of official documentation. “You mentioned to me, ‘Marsha, this is all rumors’ – but now it appears to be the reality, Rick,” said resident Marsha Augustin. Johnson confirmed, “That’s correct; we had to address it as rumors as there was nothing officially filed with the town. Last Friday at 12:45 p.m., the engineering group or architects delivered the plans.”
The plans were posted on the town’s website the following Monday and forwarded to the Planning Board for review. neighbor Paul Bosdyk, whose home borders the ninth fairway, voiced his worry about the potential impact. “I built my house 20 years ago with the idea of living on the golf course,” Bosdyk said. “I was upset at first but we have to go through the town process.”
Sherry Kearns, another nearby resident, expressed concern about losing her view. “There will be multiple homes facing our front yard. The back of these new homes will be right in our front yard,” Kearns explained. “We are very upset.”
The Planning Board is scheduled to meet next on September 8.Information regarding the proposed plans and contact details for the Planning Board are available at this page.
