For several hours, the Walloon Minister for Employment, Social Action, Health and Equal Opportunities Christie Morreale answered questions from a few deputies in the Walloon Parliament. Responses asked within the Special Commission responsible for monitoring government action in the context of the Covid-19 health crisis.
Before hearing all the questions asked, the criminologist from Liège wanted to come back to the new measures announced the day before by the National Security Center. It is said that she almost fell backwards when she heard Sophie Wilmès announce that the CNS authorized residents of accommodation structures – that is to say nursing homes or centers for people with a disability for example – to receive a visit from a designated relative.
“I fully understand and share the emotional difficulties of many families and residents,” replied Christie Morreale. “It is now up to us to find the practical modalities that allow us to combine this expectation with public health requirements.”
“To be clear, nursing homes or centers for people with disabilities will not reopen on Monday. And not before the testing is over ”.
► No one will be ready by Monday, as hoped by the CNS.
► Christie Morreale explains.
► Erika Vlieghe, president of the group of experts responsible for preparing the deconfinement, also comments on the measurement.
