What did you miss?
The Tax and Customs Administration has already received 150,000 reports of phishing by November. That is four times as many as in the whole of 2019, says the head of IT of the tax authorities in the AD.
The fraud reports are phishing emails, apps and text messages, with which scammers try to steal money from their victims on behalf of the tax authorities. For example, they write that someone must pay a tax debt quickly to avoid seizure.
According to the tax authorities, computer criminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated and often respond to current events. “From March-April, we suddenly saw countless corona-related phishing emails popping up,” a spokesman for the tax authorities told the newspaper.
