Rapid testing of teachers should be centrally arranged.”
Priority
On Thursday, the House of Representatives passed a motion whereby people with a vital profession, such as teachers, are given priority for a corona test. But it is not yet clear how this will be arranged. “It would be nice if Minister De Jonge can do that over the weekend,” said the PO council.
Should it be a while before people in vital professions can actually be tested faster, commercial laboratories are ready to provide their services. At Coronalab.eu, the test capacity at the ten locations will soon increase significantly, says entrepreneur Patrick de Boer. “From 750 to 1000 tests per day to 2000 to 3000 tests per day.”
It’s not just schools knocking on the door of the lab. “We see media companies that want to have the actors or panel members tested for productions. Or sports teams that have to perform close to each other and therefore also have to be corona-free. Bank personnel also come to us.”
The commercial laboratory will soon also be testing for the GGDs. It concerns several hundred tests per day. “The offer to help has been out for a long time,” says De Boer. “I think there has been a little more in recent months power could have been put behind increasing national capacity.
