W Hotels imposes its lifestyle brand in the Italian capital

W Hotels moved to Rome on December 6th.

The upscale and lifestyle brand W Hotels debuted in Rome next to the Spanish Steps. For this Roman getaway, the hotel incorporates the walls of two 19th century palaces in Via Liguria converted to hospitality under the direction of the Meyer Davis studio. The whole mixes traditional architecture and a Roman expression of design, especially in the hotel lobby, the W Lounge, which comes alive in the evening to the sound of DJ sets. Colorful leather furniture and eclectic seating choices, black and gray marble floors, sculptures and artwork, hand-painted wall fresco by artist Costanza Alvarez de Castro and inspired by Roman gardens: the lifestyle dimension specific to the brand of the Marriott group is present in Rome as well as in the sixty or so establishments of W Hotels around the world.

Floor to ceiling glass, decorated with a marble bathroom and a decor playing on bright colors – burnt orange, deep red, leaf green -, most of the 147 rooms and 5 suites have a private balcony or terrace. « W Rome brings together unexpected design, welcoming social spaces and the extraordinary talents of chefs Ciccio Sultano and Fabrizio Fiorani to create a refreshing and highly experiential interpretation of modern luxury“Said Tom Jarrold, Global Brand Leader, W Hotels Worldwide.

In this context, the Roman hotel offers its residents and local customers alike a restaurant serving Sicilian cuisine, the Giano, led by the starred chef Ciccio Sultano, complemented by an interior courtyard, the Giardino Clandestino, where you can enjoy an aperitivo highlighting the emphasis on Sicilian street food. Still in the open air, the hotel is topped witha rooftop bar overlooking the city. When it comes to sweets, W Rome has teamed up with renowned pastry chef Fabrizio Fiorani for a range of homemade ice creams and sweet specialties. On the relaxation side, by an infinity pool on its terrace, a gym studio designed by athlete Pietro Boselli and a concept store.
