As probably the last VW Passat with a combustion engine, the upcoming B9 generation in 2023 is all about hybridization. Equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo petrol engine and a small electric motor, the all-electric range should increase to a good 100 kilometers. In addition to the 1.5 and 2.0 liter petrol engines, the popular 2.0 liter four-cylinder TDI is still available for long-distance journeys.
