VVV-Venlo stunts on the transfer market: According to Voetbal International, Ante Coric is coming to North Limburg. The attacking midfielder of AS Roma was known for years as the talent of Croatia.
VVV announced on Thursday the arrival of Napoli mercenary Zinedine Machach (24) and is now also doing business with Roma: Coric will play in De Koel until the end of the season. The arrival of the 23-year-old will soon be announced to the world, says VI. Moreover, the Limburgers would have negotiated an option to buy from the Italians.
In 2018, 23-year-old Coric switched from Dinamo Zagreb to AS Roma for six million euros, but never grew into a permanent value in the Italian capital. In his first season in Serie A, he only played 22 minutes as a substitute. Last year he played on a rental basis at Almeria in the Spanish Segunda Division.
Nevertheless, Coric brings the necessary experience with it. He played a total of nine matches in the Champions League: eight for Dinamo Zagreb and one for Roma. In addition, he came to three international matches for Croatia.
For VVV-Venlo, Coric will be the eighth reinforcement for this season. Previously, Guus Hupperts, Lukas Schmitz, Jafar Arias, Arjen Swinkels and Nesar S’rifi were registered transfer-free. Georgios Giakoumakis came over from AEK Athens for 200,000 euros. Machach is also rented with an option to purchase.
