Volunteers Test Sinovac Vaccine in Bandung Positive for Covid-19 So 95 People

Kusnandi did not specify how many of the 95 cases were from the group receiving the vaccine and how many from the placebo recipient. But he said the vaccine efficacy rate tested after six months had not changed, namely 65 percent.

“This means that those who have immunity after being immunized are 65 percent. Below that are not immune even though they get the vaccine,” said Kusnandi.

Kusnandi revealed that when he was at the Garuda Public Health Center with the agenda of taking blood samples from clinical trial volunteers to measure antibodies in the sixth month after the injection of the first dose of the vaccine. He also mentioned that the World Health Organization (WHO) had asked for the research to be extended for another six months.

According to Kusnandi, the request for an extension of the clinical trial is to study in more detail the effects of the vaccine given. “Because this disease has only been a year, so we are still studying it carefully. There are still many big questions, so WHO asks everyone to draw more blood later, ”he said, adding that the request must be fulfilled.

Kusnandi said WHO also asked volunteers to receive booster injections. Basically, the vaccinations that have been given do not mean to give immunity to Covid-19 for life.
