A volunteer from the KEI week has been infected with the corona virus. The organization of the introduction week announced this on its website on Wednesday evening.
The volunteer was tested for the virus on Tuesday and was told on Wednesday that the result is positive. The GGD immediately started a source and contact investigation. “The volunteer has been in close contact with five other volunteers prior to the KEI week”, the organization of the introduction week says. “These five people immediately went into home quarantine for a period of fourteen days.” According to the organization, they do not show any symptoms associated with a corona infection. The investigation by the GGD must show whether more people have been in close contact with the volunteer.
The organization emphasizes that the volunteer became infected prior to the KEI week and that this did not happen at a KEI event. “Since the infected volunteer was not present at events during the KEI week, there is currently no reason to suspect that visitors to the KEI week have become infected.” The KEI week has consulted with the GGD and it has been decided to continue the introduction program.
