E-International Relations Seeks Volunteer Commissioning Editor
E-International Relations (E-IR) is seeking a motivated volunteer to join its team as a Commissioning editor. This remote, voluntary position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the leading open access online resource for students and scholars of international politics.
E-IR emphasizes originality and discourages reliance on pre-existing ideas. The organization states, “If you come up wiht your own ideas, then this role is not for you.” All published content is freely available, allowing for broad dissemination via a simple link.
The role operates entirely remotely, utilizing Slack for coordination. E-IR is run entirely by volunteers passionate about maintaining a high-quality resource in the field. Editors are empowered to develop skills,manage their time,and initiate projects,with the understanding that greater commitment yields greater personal and professional development. Many past editors have leveraged this experience into accomplished careers in publishing, politics, and academia.

- Commissioning Vision: Detailed details regarding the types of content and authors you would like to commission for E-IR (maximum 350 words). Specificity is encouraged.
- Writing Sample: An attached (or linked) academic writing sample demonstrating your abilities.
- CV/Resume: An attached one-page CV/resume or a link to a professional web page.
- Time Commitment: Confirmation of your ability to dedicate at least 5 hours per week to the role for a minimum of 6 months.While voluntary, these minimums are suggested to maximize the benefits of the position.
