Volleyball: Martigues, Istres and Vitrolles in search of success on Saturday

Martigues, Istres, Vitrolles, our three big volleyball clubs around the Etang de Berre are going to have an important day of the championship on Saturday.

In Women’s League A, Istres Provence travels Saturday to Marcq en Baroeul (11th day), a direct competitor in maintenance. In the standings, the Northerners are 9th with 10 points (3 wins, 5 losses) tied with Istres (3 wins, 4 losses). The promoted istréennes remain on 3 good performances (success against Cannes and France Avenir, defeat in the tie-break against Béziers) but, as the coach André Sa reminds it, in this championship become much more homogeneous it is necessary to be wary of everyone! Find above in video his interview at the microphone of JM Darras.

The men’s B League championship is also very homogeneous but it got off to a bad start for Martigues. The workforce, deeply renewed this summer, has not yet found its optimal fuel. The Sang et Or are 9th and red lantern with 5 points in 6 day (1 victory, 5 defeats). Saturday’s match with the reception of Plessis Robinson will therefore be terribly important to finally launch the season. But beware, the Ile-de-France residents are certainly also poorly classified (7th with 6 points) but they remain on a big success against the leader Nancy 3/2 with 24 points from Felicissimo and 22 from Verhoeff. The Martégaux are therefore warned it will be necessary to put out a big match but they have ample means given the quality of the group.

Maritima will be present at the MVB match on Saturday (at 6 p.m. behind closed doors at Julien Olive) to offer you, as always, report, images and reactions.

Finally in Elite female, Vitrolles (6th) has a very complicated trip to Levallois (2nd) on Saturday … complicated but not impossible. The Franciliennes have already lost two games this season in 6 games. But to beat them the Vitrollaises will have to show a different face than that of last Saturday when they lost at home against the promoted St Chamond. For the moment the results of this championship are rather mixed for the VSVB with 3 successes and 4 defeats but the players of Olivier Conte have already proved that they are capable of very good things.
