Volkswagen to launch eight electric and hybrid models for 2020

Volkswagen plans to release 8 ecological vehicles, between hybrid or 100% electric models for 2020.

Indeed, after announcing 34 new models for 2020, all types combined. The German automaker says it would be 12 SUVs and 8 fully electric or hybrid vehicles. This launch plan is part of the reduction of CO2 emissions, to achieve a carbon neutral balance in 2050.

Among these eight models, Volkswagen has already unveiled four, namely the Volkswagen ID.3, the new Golf GTE available in two versions: 204 and 245 horsepower and the e-up !, which will be marketed in February 2020, with its new 32.3 kWh battery, offering 260 km of autonomy. Volkswagen will also unveil a new electric SUV called ID.4 X.

On the hybrid side, Volkswagen will highlight a plug-in hybrid version of the Tiguan SUV, which will share the same block with its cousin Seat Tarraco. In addition, the Touareg will also be entitled to a hybrid variant. And finally the Golf GTE, which will also offer two versions.

In addition, Volkswagen has announced an investment of 11 billion euros in electromobility over the period 2020-2024.
