Volkswagen appoints Hans Michel Piëch to the Supervisory Board

The Volkswagen Supervisory Board has expanded its Presidium from six to eight members. Hans Michel Piëch moves into the closer management of the control body, the company said.

Piëch is spokesman for the family branch, which sets the tone alongside Porsches at Volkswagen. Bertina Murkovic was appointed to the committee on the employee side. She is the chairwoman of the works council of the VW commercial vehicle division. Both are already part of the extended group of 20 supervisors at the car company.
