The trial of the murderer of Pim Fortuyn is ending. For the next of kin it is still unpalatable that from next month Volkert van der Graaf can go where he wants without any supervision. Joost Eerdmans, who has contact with the Fortuyn family on behalf of the Civic Committee against Injustice, thinks it is incomprehensible. “The family was not even informed by the Public Prosecution Service about the end of the probation period,” says the well-known Liveable Rotterdam politician. in The Telegraph.

Van der Graaf currently has a number of limitations. In addition to a written obligation to report, he is not allowed to speak to the media and there is a ban on contact with surviving relatives. This will come to an end in May.
Simon Fortuyn, brother of the politician who was shot dead on May 6, 2002, finds it inconceivable that Van der Graaf disappears from the radar. “A fox loses its hair, but not its pranks,” he said in a written statement to De Telegraaf. “This man is” life threatening “and should be watched. In the past 18 years, this ‘jellyfish’ has taken a run with everything and everyone and with the Public Prosecution Service first. ”
