Vladimir Putin agreed to allocate 1 billion rubles to Sberbank for an important IT project in education, but shamed the head of the organization, German Gref, for having to “pull out this amount with pincers.” About it reports “Kommersant”.
Gref appealed to the head of state with a request to finance the construction of campuses for the School-21 programming schools, but found himself ashamed.
The head of Sberbank announced the amount during a discussion regarding the Novgorod branch of the school supervised by the Bank. The branch opened in September, and now the financial organization plans to open in other regions. Moreover, according to Gref, “the project is very low-cost,” and the Bank produces all the necessary equipment itself.
“If, based on the results of your trip, you gave instructions to support (the project – EADaily)… We need help from the Federation for campuses, for construction,” Gref said, clarifying that he had already discussed this issue with the presidential assistant Maxim Oreshkin.
Then Vladimir Putin asked the head of Sberbank a question about how much money would be needed.
“If you allocate a billion a year, it will be great,” Gref replied.
“Okay, I pulled it out straight with pliers. German Oskarovich is ashamed to say that he is asking the Federation for a billion. So rich and asking for a billion. Just why didn’t he name the amount? He’s ashamed,” Vladimir Vladimirovich joked.
EADaily clarifies that within the framework of “School-21”, students over 18 years of age are taught in-demand IT professions.
