The Minister of Health, Hernando Cevallos, said that the former President of the Republic, Martín Vizcarra, disqualified for ten years from public service, will not receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, noting that he had already been applied four doses.

However, it indicated that people investigated for being immunized against the coronavirus (COVID-19) with Sinopharm vaccines irregularly in February this year, can receive their third dose.

Regarding the case of former President Martín Vizcarra, who was also immunized irregularly, Minister Cevallos reiterated that “people who have received more than three doses will not receive an additional one.”

“I would no longer receive an additional dose. I understand it has four doses. You don’t need a third dose “, he pointed out.

Booster dose

Remember that those over 18 years of age who have already completed five months or more of their second vaccination can access the booster shot.

“In the case of the people who are in this investigation process, they are solving some cases (…) the right to be vaccinated is not affected in this sense. These people, obviously, beyond the error of having been vaccinated or not improperly, yes they can complete their proper doses, their third dose”, said the head of the Minsa in an interview with TV Peru Noticias.

He indicated that the provision has been made that the group made up of 487 people, including officials such as the former Minister of Health, Pilar Mazzetti, the former rector of the UNMSM, Orestes Cachay, among others, with the exception of former President Martín Vizcarra, can receive the dose. reinforcement as “any citizen in the country.”
