CHARLOTTESVILLE,Va. – The Virginia Tech volleyball team fell to the virginia Cavaliers in three sets (25-23,25-21,25-20) on Wednesday evening,extending virginia’s lead in the Smithfield Commonwealth Clash.

The Cavaliers now lead the Commonwealth Clash rivalry series 2.5-0.5.The Smithfield Commonwealth clash is a points-based series between Virginia Tech and the University of virginia, awarding points for head-to-head victories in all varsity sports.
Isabella Mishler led Virginia Tech with eight kills, seven blocks, and one service ace, hitting .429 on the day. Payton Woods also contributed eight kills, two digs, and one block. Each team contributed a service ace, while Mishler added two blocks, including one assist with Reese Hazelton.
