An employee of the national company Romsilva filmed the moment when he met a bear in the middle of a forest in the Călimani National Park. The meeting ended well for the man because the animal ignored him, mediafax reports.
The forests of Romania are home to one of the largest bear populations in the European Union and that is why encounters between humans and bears are frequent.
However, meetings are rarely filmed.
“Meeting with a bear in the heart of a forest in Călimani National Park, the filming was made by our colleague Cristin Cireș during a monitoring action”, Romsilva representatives told on Facebook.
Călimani National Park is one of the 22 national and natural parks managed by the National Directorate of Forests – Romsilva. The reservation has an area of 24,556 hectares in the counties of Suceava, Mureș, Bistrița – Năsăud and Harghita.
