Chairman of PP Muhmmadiyah Dadang Kahmad emphasized the teachings of men claiming to be kiai who allow husband and wife sex and smoking while fast in Situbondo, East Java, is not true. This teaching is said to violate the teachings of Islam.
“It is true that the teachings violate the teachings of Islam about fasting,” said Dadang when contacted, Tuesday (12/4/2022).
Dadang explained that fasting is a matter of restraint. He ensured that actions that could not contain lust, including eating, drinking, and even conjugal relations, invalidated the fast.
“It is true that fasting is refraining from those who break the fast from sunrise to sunset, which invalidates it including eating and drinking and marital relations,” he said.
Even so, Dadang said that there is no need to police the preachers who teach false teachings in Situbondo, East Java. According to him, the speaker just needs to be made aware.
“Yes, they are made aware and given advice by the ulema or senior religious figures who are there, yes (no need to be policed),” he said.
For information, a man claims to be a kiai in Situbondo and teaches a viral heresy on social media. Police intervened to investigate the video.
Reported by detikJatim, the video shows a man in a robe wearing a turban lecturing in front of his congregation. The lecture was apparently conducted in a prayer room.
There is one word from the man which states that in this fasting month it is permissible to smoke and have sex.
“Brothers and sisters, in the month of fasting, we, especially men, can smoke during the day because cigarettes do not fill the stomach. And once again, those who have a husband/wife may have sex during the day during the fasting month as long as they don’t have sex with their wives. people,” said the man as seen by detikJatim, Tuesday (12/4).
“If you/all of you come with me, you are guaranteed to go to heaven with me because I am a wise kiai,” the man continued.
