Viral Sinovac Vaccine Contains African Green Monkey Kidneys: Hoax: Okezone Lifestyle

PUBLIC Indonesia was shocked by the news that the Sinovac vaccine contained African green monkey kidneys, making it unlawful to use. The message circulated in cyberspace and caused a lot of confusion in the community.

For your information, Indonesia just brought in the second batch of Covid-19 coronavirus vaccine made by Sinovac on Thursday, December 31, 2020. Indonesia managed to bring in 1.8 million doses of vaccine after previously bringing in 1.2 million doses.

However, it seems that not all people welcome the vaccine with enthusiasm. Currently, many claim that the Sinovac vaccine contains vero cell. Vero cell itself is a viral culture medium from African green monkey kidneys.

Seeing this, Biofarma also tries to provide clarification regarding hoaxes circulating in society today. According to him, this is the act of people who have bad intentions for the mass vaccination program launched by the government. The following is a statement from Biofarma.

“Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, the news above is a hoax, which has bad intentions. That in fact:

1. The vaccine in the photo is not the vaccine used in the Indonesian clinical trial.

2. The vaccine in the photo is not a photo of the vaccine that will be used later, different brands and different packaging.

3. The pictures on the vaccine are plentiful on the internet and are easy to abuse.
