Video shows a man asking a truck driver for security money in Jambi viral on social media. What are the real facts?
View detik.com, Tuesday (12/10/2021), in the viral video, a man in a red shirt using a white motorcycle stops in front of a truck. The man on the motorbike then knocked on the window of the truck.
“Apo Bang? it’s okay more money,” said the truck driver who recorded the incident.
“Twenty, twenty, security money. Don’t— you’re kidding‘ said the man in red.
The video uploader said the incident occurred on Thursday (7/10). The location of the incident is in the Kresik Tuo Market, Kayu Aro, Kerinci, Jambi.
“He said it was security money, even though if he wasn’t there it would be even safer,” wrote the video uploader.

The surprising fact behind this viral video was later revealed through a video uploaded by the Jambi Police. Link The video on the Jambi Police YouTube channel was posted by the official Polda Twitter account Jambi.
“Clarification regarding this matter,” wrote the Jambi Police Twitter account.
In the clarification video, the man suspected of being a thug gave an explanation of his identity. He claimed to be named Syafii (41) and a resident of Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU).
“In connection with the circulation of videos of extortion or illegal levies by thugs against truck drivers at the STA Kayu Aro location which went viral on social media, I hereby convey that the video was recorded by my own friend, Susilo Nurdianto,” said Syafii.
