An event video marriage contract which led to a viral riot on social media. It is known, the video took place in the village of Oimbo, Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
The video, which is 1 minute 41 seconds long, was first uploaded to Ansar Blur’s Facebook account at around 11.00 WITA. Two hours later, the video has been shared 1.8 thousand times.
In the video, the initial consent-kabul process went smoothly. Seen the head who wore a blue coat started the procession of consent-kabul.
After that, it was the turn of the bride’s parents to recite the istigfar and the creed.
At the end of the creed, the man sitting opposite the groom suddenly said the word ‘Bote’. In the Bima language, ‘Bote’ means monkey.
The remark sparked a reaction from the groom’s family. A woman was heard cursing.
“Moreover, the problem is, respect us as his family. It’s not good to hear about this,” said one of the women in the video in Bima language.
The bride’s parents seemed to be pointing in the direction of the voice. Then he got up from his seat and threw a kick at the groom. The kick hit the groom’s face.
The bride’s parents again attacked the groom, but managed to break up.
Bima City Police Chief AKBP Henry Novika Candra confirmed the incident. The incident in the video occurred on August 14 last.
“It’s true that this happened in Bima City, precisely in Oimbo, the jurisdiction of the West Rasanae Police. But the incident happened a month ago, on August 14, 2021,” he explained to detikcom, Sunday (26/9/2021).
Henry said the case had been reported to the West Rasanae sector police and further investigation was underway.
“It has been reported by the family who feel aggrieved. An investigation is being carried out regarding the motive and will soon be transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department,” he said.
