Clashes between drivers online motorcycle taxi (ojol) and debt collector occurred in Mangga Besar, Jakarta, on Tuesday (6/7).
Footage of the incident has also circulated on social media. One of them was uploaded to the Instagram account @jakarta_zone.
Sawah Besar Police Chief AKP Maulana Mukarom said his party was still investigating the incident. Including the matter of the destruction that occurred during the clashes.
“For update So there are two motorbikes that we have secured at the Sawah Besar Sector Police, related to the destruction, they are being handled by the Sawah Besar Police,” said Maulana when contacted, Wednesday (7/7).
In addition, said Maulana, there were also reports of acts of persecution in the incident. This report, he continued, was handled by the Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
Maulana said that currently his party is still asking for information from a number of witnesses related to the clashes between ojol and ojol debt collector that.
“We are continuing to explore this, we are also examining witnesses who did what, we will certainly convey developments later. Hopefully, the perpetrators according to yesterday’s incident with criminal acts will be immediately arrested,” he said.
On the other hand, Maulana, the incident occurred on Tuesday (6/7) yesterday at around 17.00 WIB. At that time, he said, the police immediately went to the location to beat back the crowd.
“But we managed to get back from the Sawah Besar Police and Central Jakarta Police acted quickly. We dispersed the crowd at 18.00 WIB, the masses returned to their respective places in an orderly and peaceful manner, we also tell both parties if there are victims please make a report, ” said Maulana.
In the video uploaded to the Instagram account @jakarta_zone, it can be seen that the throwing of helmets occurred during the clash.
In fact, the commotion closed one section of the road so that the flow of vehicle traffic was disrupted.
