This weekend at least three violent incidents occurred on the New York subway that left at least one person stabbed.
One of the most violent occurred on Saturday at the 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue station in Manhattan.
There, a woman allegedly stabbed a man when they were on the platforms.
The woman fled the scene after the assault and the victim was transferred to a hospital in the area in stable condition.
That same day, at the 34th Street–Herald Square station, a man was hit in the head with a glass object.
According to authorities, two suspects assaulted the victim.
The events occurred around 1:00 am on Saturday.
In a third incident a man was beaten by a suspect who fled the scene.
The incident was reported at a subway station on the G line in Brooklyn.
This violent rebound occurs when the authorities announced that the number of subway users increased to four million, a figure not seen since before the pandemic.
Between March and April of this year 178 incidents have occurred in the transport systeman increase of 14 percent over the same period in 2022.
