A group of football supporters gathered in the Onze Onze café early in the evening to watch the match between Feyenoord – Heerenveen. Around 8.15 pm another group arrived, who drove onto the terrace in front of the pub with one or more cars.
Hit hits
Once inside, a fight broke out between the two groups that lasted a few minutes. In addition, striking blows were handed out. Video footage of the fight circulating on the internet also shows how a number of people involved immediately started to throw bar stools at the start of the confrontation.
Some people were injured. Three of them were treated in the hospital. They did not have to be transported by ambulance.
Police are looking for more witnesses to fight
When the police arrived, according to spokesman Remy van Berkesteijn, the attackers had already left. The police did get suspects in the picture via witness statements. Later that evening in Rotterdam the license plate was recognized for a car that might have been involved in the fight.
The police arrested the five occupants and locked them in for questioning. The car was also seized. More arrests are not excluded. “For the investigation, we would like to get in touch with more witnesses, also with people who are victims of the confrontation,” says Van Berkesteijn.
