Aston ‍Villa supporters and fans of Maccabi tel Aviv could be impacted ⁢by a potential ban on away fans traveling‍ to Thursday’s Europa Conference League match, following advice given to the Home Office last week. security concerns stemming from the ongoing conflict ‍in the Middle East prompted the police football⁢ unit to recommend barring Maccabi Tel Aviv fans from⁣ attending the game at Villa Park.

The decision,⁤ while aimed at⁣ preventing potential clashes⁢ and ‌ensuring the safety of all involved,​ has drawn mixed ​reactions. Marshall Spires, 32, stated, “It’s hard to not have politics get involved.” He added, “If [the safety decision] means Villa fans can come to the ground and it’s safe, then that’s all that matters to me.”

David Moss, 51, emphasized⁤ the importance of prioritizing safety, saying, “My view is that if it’s going to cause friction, trouble, I woudl ‍say they shouldn’t really be travelling, because I don’t want‌ anyone on the Villa side or ⁢Tel ⁤Aviv⁢ side to get injured.” He​ continued, “It’s⁤ the right decision for‌ security and for ​players‍ and fans.⁢ [But] it’s a shame, people want to come and ​watch their team ⁤play in Europe.”

Lee Goodman believes the ban is the “correct ‌decision” but⁣ lamented that it’s “a shame for the genuine fans.”
