Residents of the Central and Northwestern Federal Districts of Russia will experience abnormally warm weather, said TASS scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand.
According to him, the temperature in the central part of the country during the week will exceed the norm by 2-4 degrees, and in the north-western regions – by 4-7 degrees. In the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts, as well as in the regions of the central Chernozem region, the temperature is expected to be around normal or 1 degree lower.
The forecaster noted that the anomalous warming is associated with the transfer of air masses from west to east. “In the north, this leads to significant anomalies, in temperate latitudes – around the norm,” he explained.
Snowfall in Moscow, meanwhile, will not stop until Monday, November 23; intensification of wind, snowstorms and deterioration of visibility on the roads are expected, leading employee of the Phobos center Evgeny Tishkovets told RBC.
The weather in the central part of Russia, including Moscow, is influenced by the passage of the North Atlantic cyclone “Sara”, the forecaster noted. “In Moscow, snowfalls will continue, the wind will increase to 10-15 m / s, blizzards will swirl with a deterioration in visibility,” Tishkovets said.
