The wait is still as long until the broadcast of the end of season 6 of Vikings on History but while we are patient, we take this opportunity to ask ourselves a few questions about what could have happened in this final season. The mid-season finale left many things in suspense, including the fate of Bjorn who was seriously injured by his brother Ivar. However things could have been very different if that was when the series decided to reintroduce a very important character of the first seasons of Vikings : the great Rollo, brother of Ragnar Lothbrok.
The question of the real biological link between Bjorn and Rollo has hovered over the series since its inception and even if season 6 of Vikings will probably not reveal the truth, the fact that Rollo could be the father of Bjorn could have changed everything. The latter could indeed have decided to return from France to help the one he thinks is his son. Even if Ivar’s plan turned out to be very well thought out, Bjorn’s army helped by Rollo’s men could have largely repelled the attack of the Russians, thus changing the outcome of this new war between the sons of Ragnar . Furthermore, since the series is coming to an end, it is high time to bring back the famous Rollo.
We do not forget, however, that the relationship between Bjorn and Rollo has always been complicated and the many betrayals that have occurred between the two men have what to discourage a possible collaboration. It could however have been interesting to see them find themselves in tense circumstances before the war, and then possibly fight together against Ivar. Obviously it could also have been a new opportunity for Rollo to betray his nephew and side with Ivar, but we will never know. It only remains to wait for the broadcast of the last episodes of the series to know if we will see Rollo again or not.
