For the vast majority of the media, all kinds of disasters, epidemics or war conflicts are literally a blessing. At the same time, they often do not know peace and attack viewers or readers with such a large amount of negative information that many people are fed up with it. While until recently, news programs were among the most watched television programs of all time, recently interest in them has been declining sharply.
It mainly concerns the most watched news program in our country, “Television News” TV Nova. Although their bosses soon realized that the depressing war info show from Ukraine was losing interest (because it was coming at them from all sides) and focused on a tried and tested holiday theme, it doesn’t help much. Viewership of “Televisní noviny” fell well below a million.
News waiting room
Viewers of Nova show their displeasure at the unfortunate trend, when the moderators inform them that they will learn some information on the Nova website. “You can’t even listen to Nova TV news anymore. By the way, when you are basing yourself on surveys, have you counted how many times during the news and not only the main ones, the moderators say you will find out on tn.cz? Do you think I’m going to watch the news when I have to listen to it on websites? What about others and old people without computers? I’d rather look elsewhere, where they’ll tell me the whole story,” complains Svatoslava on Nova’s Facebook. Another drawback of television news, which unfortunately has already been taken over by Czech Television, is the request that viewers wait for some important news. The public station often makes its viewers wait until half past eight, that is, the time when Televízní noviny na Nová starts.
Good old series
The winner of this summer is not any sensational news about where the most mushrooms grow or what the weather will be like, or even a new hit, a regular dose of scaring the public with price increases, but above all older or completely old detective series. It is now managing to hold the position of TV leader thanks to reruns of the popular “Specialists” and the idyllic “Police Modrava”. As we have already mentioned recently, the success that Nova attributes to itself thanks to the fact that it broadcasts a forty-year-old detective series produced by the Czechoslovak Television “Little asked from the big city” is also curious. Also, the balance sheet of Czech Television is once again saved by the cult “Chalupaři” or the crime dramas “Cases of the First Department” and “Sinful People of the City of Prague”. Prima Television also ranks in the top ten most watched programs, mainly thanks to the crime dramas “Temný kraj” and “VIP Murders”.
