Candidate after candidate is surreptitiously played home in ‘Expedition Robinson’, but who really is the great evil mastermind? In last night’s episode, Britte Lagher (32) does not come out as the most sympathetic expedition member.

Last week René van Meurs was sent home and last night’s episode showed how the scheming on the island was happily continuing. Or just happily remove it. Jasmine Sendar’s head was about to explode, she told her islanders herself. Jasmine had been on Winners Island for the past few days and had no idea what had transpired during the previous Island Council. How many votes did Britte and Yuki have left? And did Yuki still have his immunity ring? All these questions ran through her head.

Britte and Yuki weren’t quite sure how to go about it; their strategy changed by the minute. For example, at first Yuki wanted to lie that he no longer had an immunity ring, but he came back to this. According to the actress, it was all the big Yuki show, but in the end it was Britte herself who played the game in a devious way.

Jasmine, Britte, and Yuki briefly gathered to discuss their game plan. Britte wanted to be “honest” with Jasmine and told her that everyone should vote for her. Britte had the fewest votes and it would be fair if she was sent home. Yuki and Jasmine would then have enough votes for the next island council. “I see Britte just going on and on and on and making this little by little more believable,” Yuki said. “It’s insane, but also very sad. When I look across the street I see Jasmine in total panic. In total confusion. This goes way beyond a tactical move, this is really personal deception.” Jasmine gardened in it with both eyes.

During the counting of the votes, it became clear to Jasmine that she had been tricked again. Britte had no intention of sacrificing herself at all and Jasmine was the one with the most votes. Meanwhile, Britte continued her acting skills, pretending she didn’t know Yuki was going to vote for Jasmine either. And that doesn’t appeal to viewers.

Britte’s action is outraged on Twitter. “This isn’t the big Yuki show anymore… this is the Manipulation with Britt show,” responds one viewer. Another speaks of ‘the meanest piece of entertainment television in ages’.
