[Video]Red Bull’s F1 machine and Shinkansen “Fastest rendezvous run in history”[F1-Gate.com]

Red Bull’s F1 machine collaborates with the Shinkansen and blows up in a residential area. In 2023, a project that overwhelmed motor sports fans was carried out.

Shinkansen and F1 machine co-starring. Both (cars) achieved the “fastest rendezvous driving in history” in Japan with a maximum speed of over 200km/h. A new page has been added to the history of the motor sports world.

As you know, Red Bull has faced various challenges with F1 machines. “Taxis and battles”, “Running from Miami to New York”, “Ice racing with chains on tires”, nothing is impossible…

However, the ones that have been mainly used in such shooting projects so far have been champion machines (equipped with a gasoline engine) such as the “RB7” that was active in the golden age of Red Bull Racing in the early 2010s.

And what is appearing in this challenge is the RB16B, the champion machine that won that fierce battle in 2021 and led Max Verstappen to the top of the world. This is the first time in history that a machine equipped with a hybrid system has been used for a Red Bull video shooting project outside of a race. Neither England nor Austria, here “Japan” was chosen as the stage for the great challenge!
.
Run the latest F1 hybrid machine on public roads. How hard is this? The content of the work at the site is free practice… No, it’s almost the same as running the machine in an actual race.

First of all, the members of Red Bull Racing and Honda Racing, who just finished the “2022 F1 Final Round” just a few days ago, are working on it. What was also brought in was a set of large equipment and precision equipment used in large quantities and at a practical level.

Work started at least 3 hours before the shoot. The machine’s condition, such as fuel consumption, tire and brake temperature, wear, stress and malfunctions of each part, is constantly monitored by a telemetry system. It took several tens of minutes just to start the engine once, and the vehicle height had to be adjusted by 0.1 mm to match the road at the shooting site.

Special color only for Japan
In a sense, this livery may only be available for projects in Japan. This time, “RB16B” is a special color that expresses gratitude to Japanese fans and the “bond” between Red Bull and Honda. Since its debut in 2021, it has been popular with many fans, and is a special livery for the Japan GP with the letters “Thank you” on the rear wing and body! In addition to the surprise of the shocking video, there must be quite a few motor sports fans who were moved by this stylish and overly-hot arrangement, and couldn’t help but want to say “thank you”.

This shooting took place in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture and Omura City, Nagasaki Prefecture. In cooperation with more than 100 people, including local governments such as prefectural and city governments, police, local residents and volunteers, the project was successfully completed by completing the “F1 Road”, which has nothing but front, rear, left and right F1 machines. lead.

After that, we invited local people who cooperated and held an exhibition and unveiling party of “RB16B”. The surrounding parking lots filled up in an instant, and crowds of people gathered to get a glimpse of the machines. Many people around the machine asked for a commemorative photo with the Red Bull Racing crew, and a photo session similar to that of popular idols was held quietly.

Collaboration with Japan’s No. 1 Shinkansen
Two types of Shinkansen appear in this project. The Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen has the shortest travel distance in Japan, at only 68km, and the Tokaido Shinkansen boasts the highest number of passengers in Japan, with about 400,000 people riding every day. In fact, this time, the F1 machine is playing a dream co-star with two of Japan’s best.

Not only that, in fact, thanks to the Tokaido Shinkansen, the F1 machine has also achieved another collaboration with “Japan’s No. 1”. Since the Tokaido Shinkansen runs on a superb view route where Mt. Fuji looks huge, the dream collaboration of “F1 x Mt.

The West Kyushu Shinkansen just opened in September 2022, and is the newest Shinkansen at the time of the video release (February 2023). The Tokaido Shinkansen has the oldest history, having opened in 1964 as the world’s first high-speed railway. Surprisingly, hidden behind the power word “Japan’s No. 1”, the F1 machine achieved a rendezvous run with both the latest and oldest Shinkansen in this project.

It was quite difficult to “match the timing” during the shoot. The F1 machine had to perform a series of “engine start, start, acceleration, deceleration, and stop” within the restricted area, and the “acceleration” part had to be at the same timing as the Shinkansen passing. However, “waiting” doesn’t work, and the Shinkansen runs through the tracks without mercy when the time comes.

In addition, due to the shooting schedule and fuel limit, it seems reckless that there are only a few chances… I really felt that this challenge was a shocking project that could only be realized by Red Bull that no one could imitate.

In order to make the opening of the 2023 F1 season as exciting as possible, a large-scale F1 machine project was held in Shizuoka and Nagasaki prefectures. The surprise left a huge impact and excitement in the hearts of motorsports fans not only in Japan, but all over the world.
