Fiery Dragon Captivates Crowds at Zwolle Light Parade
ZWOLLE, November 11, 2025 – A spectacular display of light and community collaboration culminated in a vibrant finale at the Wezenlandenpark last night, with a striking, fire-themed performance stealing the show during the Zwolle Light Parade. The parade, a joint effort by numerous Zwolle organizations, drew attendees with swinging music, warming refreshments, and a series of illuminated artworks.
The annual Lichtparade isn’t simply a visual spectacle; it’s a powerful exhibition of inclusivity and shared creativity, bringing together diverse groups to explore themes of community and support. This year’s event focused on the concept of “sharing,” manifested through creations from students and community members alike. The parade’s success underscores the importance of accessible arts initiatives and their ability to foster connection within the city.
Students from Het Mozaïek and Het Atelier crafted intricate lampions, while Hogeschool VIAA students designed fiery objects for a dynamic “lopend vuurtje” – a moving fire display. ArtEZ students presented three short performances centered around the theme of sharing, and participants from Meesterwerk created light objects representing the shared burden of challenges. The Roze Ouderen of WIJZ contributed a “lightmantel” symbolizing warmth and compassion, and young peopel from Travers Vuurkracht designed a sun-inspired artwork, representing unconditional giving.
