The incident highlights the challenges faced by emergency services in combating large-scale fires. In 2023, Romania recorded over 15,000 fires, with a significant portion attributed to electrical faults and human negligence, according to the Inspectorate General for Emergency Situations (ISU).
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Emergency teams remain on site, working to fully contain and extinguish the remaining flames.
