Curtis Crosland, a 60-year-old American, was released from prison last June. For 34 years, he had been serving a sentence there for a robbery that had gone wrong that he did not commit.
It was a dramatic miscarriage of justice that deprived her of more than half of her life. False testimony accuses him
After several years of an unsuccessful investigation, two people had finally testified against Curtis Crosland, claiming that he had made comments about his guilt in the robbery. One of the witnesses in question, the father of one of Curtis’ sister’s children, had testified in exchange for the leniency of the police, as he is about to return to prison after several homicide convictions involuntary and theft.
Apart from the two testimonies, no material evidence accused Curtis Crosland, who was nevertheless sentenced to life imprisonment in December 1988. For all these years, the American has never ceased to proclaim his innocence. After calling in a private detective, Curtis presents several elements in favor of his innocence, including two declarations on the honor of the supposed witness, who admits to having lied.
It wasn’t until 2020 that the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office looked into this case again. A year later, in June 2021, an American judge overturned his conviction. Curtis Crosland, now in his sixties, is finally released from prison after 34 years in prison.
