Video shows police patrol running over protesters in Brooklyn | Univision 41 New York WXTV

Video of a New York police patrol running over several protesters in Brooklyn, protesting after the death of George Floyd at the hands of an officer, is sparking anger on social media.

For the third day in a row, New Yorkers have taken to the streets of the city, and what started as a quiet demonstration has grown increasingly violent with the arrival of night.

In the images you can see how a group of people intercepts a patrol, using a separation barrier. Dozens of protesters surround the vehicle, someone throws a trash can at it.

Later another patrol arrives and passes over the crowd, who tries to stop him as best he can, but the car continues, dragging some of them.

Later the first vehicle patrol accelerates and pushes those who were holding the separation barrier, and those around them.

In another video, a patrol can be seen with enough speed to avoid the protesters and continue on their way. “My hands are shaking and my stomach hurts. I thought someone was going to die,” Ella Ryan posted, along with the video, which was apparently taken in Flatbush, Brooklyn.

On Friday, the second day of protests, videos of police officers acting abusively went viral on the networks. Not only were there reports of the use of pepper spray unnecessarily (where leaders like Assemblywoman Diana Richardson reported being sprayed while protesting peacefully).

On one occasion, an officer can be seen pushing hard on a girl, who ended up with a concussion to the head, while another video shows a police vehicle opening the passenger seat door and crashing into one of the protesters.

Local leaders such as Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo have called for an investigation into Friday’s events. This Saturday, the actions by protesters and the police seem to be going in the same direction.

This Saturday at least two police patrols have been set on fire, and the protesters have not stopped throwing objects at the soldiers. Dozens of arrests have been reported.

The protests have not only occurred in New York, but have occurred throughout the country, in cities such as Miami, Washington DC, Los Angeles and Chicago, among others. In many the curfew has been declared.
