A collision of two tractors took place in Jēkabpils on Monday afternoon, eyewitnesses report.
The collision took place in Jēkabpils, Zīlānu Street. An eyewitness mentions that the accident happened because one of the heavy equipment burst a tire.
A video posted on social networks shows that both tractors crashed along with grain loads.
Last day, 15 people were injured in road traffic accidents, including two pedestrians and three cyclists, the State Police reports. One pedestrian and one cyclist were injured in accidents in the Riga region, two cyclists were injured in Vidzeme, and a pedestrian was injured in a traffic accident in Latgale.
A total of 84 road traffic accidents have been registered in the country, 12 of them with victims, and no fatalities in any accidents.
There were 44 road traffic accidents in the Riga region during the day, 12 in Latgale, 11 in Kurzeme, nine in Vidzeme, and eight in Zemgale.
